Italian

Language is the primary medium of encounter with reality, so much so that the other forms of language are learnt if they are traced back to the primary language. All disciplines are responsible for the student's linguistic growth and have a duty to broaden their lexical knowledge and syntactic capacity. Italian lessons will serve to make the student aware of the dynamics of the language he normally uses to communicate and introduce him to the linguistic and textual heritage of our tradition. The approach to the grammar rules will be logical - deductive, whereby the child will identify the rules by thinking and pondering on the language. Through this process of linguistic reflection, its interiorisation will be facilitated.
