SCIENCE DAY

School

Hundreds of children and their families took part in the 'Science Day', the first event open to the public organised by the innovative school created by Iginio Straffi in the spaces adjacent to the Rainbow Group's headquarters in Loreto. A unique initiative that was a huge success, during which participants had the chance to discover, while having fun, the world of science together with Professor Vincenzo Schettini.

It was a welcoming and fun-filled morning, with educational workshops held by the school's teachers who involved the participants in a broad programme of activities ranging from science to dance, from music and storytelling to art and sensory paths, with the aim of stimulating the curiosity and creativity of the youngest children.

In addition to the teachers' workshops, the school also involved Professor Brizi from the Liceo Scientifico "Giacomo Leopardi" school in Recanati, who, together with some of his students, enriched the day's educational activities with an exciting Robotics workshop, which actively involved the children in the experience of driving a robot through a dedicated app.

The focus of the day was the lecture by Prof. Schettini, creator of the very popular social format "The physics we like", through which he spreads notions of physics in a timely and passionate manner, involving almost 3 million followers thanks to his avant-garde teaching method based on reasoning and the investigation of real situations within everyone's reach. In his special lecture, the professor actively involved and interacted with his young students, guiding them in their learning with experiments, reflections, and great dialogue, as well as with his innate spontaneity and friendliness.

The Liberi Reggiomonte International School, strongly desired by Iginio Straffi, was inaugurated in 2017 at the Rainbow headquarters in Loreto and is housed in a sustainable 1,000 square metre structure. A special school where multidisciplinarity, bilingualism, approach to the world of art, science, and technology (without ever neglecting play), are the pillars of a balanced education, and where tools are provided to build one's own identity and autonomy, critical sense, responsible choices, helping to mature skills of coexistence, solidarity and acceptance of diversity. The school decided to offer Prof. Schettini's lecture at Science Day to the region because, like him, it is a unique and cutting-edge reality in the world of education and promotes an approach and method of learning in line with an ever-changing world.
